Beautiful Buttetflies

Have you ever experienced being in your Craft Zone? For me, it normally happens after I've made a card or a layout, and suddenly the creativity juice keeps on flowing. It's the total opposite of a creativity block where I spend a while day and struggle to create anything!

Anyway, I'm going to make the most out of my craft mojo right now. I made the following card for a very generous lady that I know. Not only is she generous, she has also been so supporting and encouraging in my craft journey.

The inspiration for this card actually came after I made these butterflies.

Aren't they just so pretty? I stamped them using the Butterfly Gala stamp set and punched them out using the Butterfly Duet punch (more detailed listing of products used below).

After I had butterflies 😆, everything else just kind of fell in place......and here's the end result.

I didn't go too over the top with embellishment because I wanted to keep this card simple, yet elegant.

After that I couldn't put down my duet butterfly punch, and I have another special person in my life that I needed to make a card for. This time it's for a very dear friend who is always there for me. Who listens to all my problems (bless her!) and shares laughter with me too.

Her favourite colour is blue, and she has expensive taste, hahaha! So I added some silver foil to the card 🤣

I also added some stamped leaves to make the silver foil pop more and to add more dimensions to the card.

Pearls are perfect for the butterflies, don't you think? 😊

Thank you for stopping by, I hope you've enjoyed reading this post and I also hope it'll inspire you to create something too!

Happy crafting,
Juanita

August 2020 Stampers Anonymous Card Challenge

I'm part of a team called the Stampers Anonymous and they have a monthly challenge.

For August, the challenge was to make a masculine card. This is the perfect opportunity for me to make a Father's Day card.

Here's what I came up with:

I used Crumb Cake cardstock to made the card base as well as the embossed piece. That beautiful background texture is embossed using Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. Next, I cut the horizontal piece from In Good Taste Designer Series Paper, and stuck a linen ribbon across it. I stamped on the embossed piece as well as the sentiment using the stamps from Tasteful Touches Cling Stamp Set and Early Espresso inkpad. The sentiment is die cut using a label die from the Tasteful Labels Dies

Next, i stamped some leaves onto white cardstock using stamps from the Forever Fern Cling Stamp Set, and the Night of Navy inkpad. I then die cut the stamped leaves using Forever Flourishing Dies. Using this same die set, I die cut more leaves in silver foil sheets and mossy meadow cardstock.

I actually made this card for my husband on behalf of my kids. Nothing like a handmade card to remind him that he is truly the Best 💗

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you've enjoyed my post 😊

Happy crafting!

Scrap With Juanita ~ Video 3

Yeah my third video is up! Sorry this was a week late (I was aiming fortnightly), life got in the way!

This is a scrapbook layout of my little one when she turned 3 last year. The photo doesn't really have any particular colours that pop, making it great for any patterned paper of my choice. I decided to go with the Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper as the base and two of the circles. The paper for the brown circle is from In Good Taste Designer Series Paper. I cut these circles out using Layering circles dies.

The photo is matted onto Pretty Peacock cardstock, which has been cut out using Rectangle Stitched dies.

I trimmed a white cardstock to 10" by 10", and stamped on it using Tasteful Touches Cling Stamp Set, around the corners and strategically stamping some images beside the photo.

Next, I used the Forever Fern bundle to create all the different leaves - some are stamped on off-cuts from the white cardstock using different green inkpads, and then die-cut out, and some are simply die-cut from different green cardstocks.
I also stamped a flower from Tasteful Touches Cling Stamp Set onto white cardstock using Melon Mambo inkpad, and then fussy cut it out.

Last but not least, I die-cut the title using Well Written Dies.

I hope you agree with me that this is a simply yet pretty layout! At the end of my video, you will see my next layout, here's a sneak peek :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Scrapping,
Juanita

Scrapbook Global August 2020 Blog-hop

Hi all, welcome to this month's Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop! I hope you are having fun visiting all the blogs in the hop!

Our challenge this month is the Sketch below:

Here's my take on the sketch. This is my first time joining a Blog Hop, so I'm very excited and I think I didn't do too bad 😂 What do you think?

The photos I used for this layout was a New Year celebration dinner last year. I had to cover the photos because there were so many people it's too hard to get permission from all of them 😝

Here are the materials I used for this layout (clicking on the link will take you to my shop 😀):
- Night of Navy cardstock
- White cardstock for die-cutting the circles
- Vellum (behind the title)
- Braided Linen Trim for the little ribbon under the title

And besides your standard tool kit (trimmer, adhesive etc), here are the tools I used:
Ornate Borders Dies for the beautiful flowers strip in the middle
- Stitched Lace Dies for the circles that now look like dollies 😀
- Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set. I used the Let's Celebrate You stamp but masked out the 'You'
- Night of Navy inkpad
- Sponge Daubers for inking around all the paper and die-cuts

Thank you so much for stopping by 💖

Please hop to the next blog by the talented Libby Dyson!
